First time! Stem cells treat "Auntie Wandee", an old elephant with hepatitis

The veterinarian team at the Lampang Elephant Hospital experimented with using stem cells transferred from Nong Kanya intravenously to treat "Pa Wan Dee", a 60-year-old elephant with chronic hepatitis. This is the first time in Thailand after research using placenta from elephants.


The case of the baby elephant "Pang Kanya", a wild elephant who got lost and died from elephant herpes virus on November 4th, which is considered a very dangerous viral disease that can be fatal for young elephants or baby elephants.
